DMR radio is a digital two-way radio that adopts DMR(Digital Mobile Radio) standard. As an international standard for digital two-way radios, DMR allows different manufacturers to create the same equipment and operate together on the same network for all its functions.

DMR is a format for making digital radio with low complexity and low cost. DMR allows manufacturers to be interoperable and users can choose from different options that are less expensive rather than being stuck with one specific manufacturer that would be costly to replace or maintain.

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) created and maintains the DMR standard. It has been in development since 2005, with updates made regularly.
