Carrier Aggregation (CA) is the process of aggregating two or more Component Carrier (CC) units together to support a larger transmission bandwidth, with each carrier unit corresponding to an independent cell.

The use of carrier aggregation can efficiently utilize fragmented spectrum to support a larger transmission bandwidth, and after the UE is configured with carrier aggregation, it is able to send and receive data to and from multiple cells at the same time, thus significantly improving the single-user experience rate.

At the same time, according to the wireless characteristics of different carriers, through the carrier aggregation technology, the corresponding carrier can be flexibly selected to send or upload data, which can enhance the downlink coverage.

Application of carrier aggregation in wireless communication

PDT narrowband communication occupies an important position in the field of specialized communication, especially in the field of emergency response and public safety. However, with the continuous progress of technology and changes in market demand, narrowband communication has faced many challenges. For example, the long technology iteration cycle, limited spectrum resources, and weak industrial chain have become important factors restricting industry innovation.

Carrier aggregation and spectrum awareness technology can easily solve these problems. Through carrier aggregation technology, multiple discrete frequencies can be effectively aggregated to enhance bandwidth, thereby improving data transmission capacity and alleviating the spectrum bottleneck of narrowband communications. In addition, spectrum sensing technology can optimize the use of spectrum resources and reduce interference, thus improving the efficiency and quality of communication.
