How to avoid the interference of two way radio?

Two-way radio interference is any additional noise or other conversation that the user can hear while using the radio. While hearing other conversations can give you more information, in an emergency, unsolicited interference can be dangerous, or just simple interference! Additionally, two-way radio interference can go both ways; if you can hear other conversations over your radio, other radios can hear your conversations as well.

So how can you stop radio interference? Here are some tips.

Frequency band selection: Select the appropriate frequency band according to the environment in which it will be used. For example, the VHF band is used in mountainous areas, while the UHF band is recommended in urban environments. At the same time, make sure that you are using the legal frequencies assigned by the local radio regulatory commission (NRC), so that you can legally deal with illegal use of interference on the same or nearby frequencies.

Choose a radio with anti-interference function: BF-BP860 is equipped with anti-interference design, such as high-gain super-aberrant circuits and customized shielding, which can effectively isolate interfering signals and improve the stability and anti-interference ability of communication.

Parameter settings: setting radios’ parameter by programming software, such as  such as setting narrowband channels to reduce in-channel interference, configuring CTCSS/DCS to distinguish and filter non-target signals, and adjusting the appropriate squelch level to reduce noise interference.

Avoiding sources of interference: In the course of use, pay attention to changes in the surrounding environment, such as the emergence of new high-power base stations or electrical equipment, and try to stay away from these possible sources of interference.

Use Proper Radio Frequencies: Assign unique radio frequencies to different teams or operations to minimize overlap. VHF radios are better for long-distance communication in open areas, such as maritime settings. UHF radios perform well indoors or in urban environments due to their ability to penetrate walls and obstacles.

Antenna Adjustment and Replacement: Ensure that the antenna is installed correctly, and replace the high-performance antenna if necessary to optimize signal reception and transmission and reduce interference caused by antenna problems.

Power management: Reasonably adjust the transmit power of the walkie-talkie according to the need to avoid unnecessary interference caused by excessive power, as well as to protect the equipment and comply with regulations.Through the above measures, users of BelFone Communications can largely reduce external interference and ensure clear and reliable communication.
